Swedish defender Jonas Olsson has completed his move from Ditch side NEC Nijmegen to West Bromwich Albion for an initial £800,000 fee.
25-year-old Olsson wiil arrive at the Hawthorns on a two-year deal, with the option of a third should the Baggies decide to take that option on the Former Sweden Under-21 International.
Olsson is West Brom manager Tony Mowbray’s 10th signing of the summer, with Mowbray delighted to have secured the signature of the giant centre-half.
“I'm delighted to welcome Jonas to the club,” Tony Mowbray said.
“He's got different assets to our other centre-halves.
‘He's a big, tall, left-sided defender who will bring physical attributes to our team due to his sheer size.
‘Jonas is comfortable on the ball, can pick a pass and also has a real winner's attitude.
“He's been brought in to increase competition at centre-half and I'm looking forward to working with him and helping to develop his career in the Premier League.”
