Chelsea Legend Wilkins Named New Coach At Stamford Bridge

Ray Wilkins is set to replace Steve Clarke as first team coach at Chelsea after the Premier League side announced that Wilkins will be renewing his association with the Stamford Bridge club, who he has played for, coached and managed.

Clarke recently resigned as coach at Chelsea and has joined former Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola, who has taken over at Premiership Rivals West ham United.

Wilkins is now set for his third stint at the Blues, having played for Chelsea between 1973-1979 making almost 200 appearances, the former AC Milan and Manchester United midfielder also coached Chelsea in 1999 and was caretaker boss for two games in 2000.

“He brings with him a wealth of expertise and experience from his time in British and European football,” the club said in a statement on their website.
