Newcastle United have parted company with manager Kevin Keegan with the former Magpies player walking out on the club for a second time, according to reports on Tuesday.
Keegan came back to St James’ Park in January for a second spell as the Magpies boss and after a shaky start to his second stint in charge he appeared to be pulling the North East club in the right direction.
However, it has now emerged that Keegan is understood to have left Newcastle following a meeting with the clubs hierarchy earlier on Tuesday.
One of the issues that had been troubling Keegan was the enforced sale of James Milner to Aston Villa, who Keegan did not want to see leave for Villa Park, along with several disagreements with director Dennis Wise over potential targets.
This is the second time Keegan has quit Newcastle, having walked away in 1997 after they failed to win the Premier League. The 57-year-old has also walked out on managerial posts at Manchester City, Liverpool and of course England.
