Manchester City reportedly had an offer of €10million turned down by Eredivisie club Feyenoord for Arsenal and Everton target Jonathan De Guzman on Monday, according to De Telegraaf.
It is believed the offer was made before the takeover of City by ADUG, who subsequently began making offers for the big names in European football. Which culminated in Brazilian International Robinho arriving at the Eastlands Stadium for a British record £32.5million transfer fee.
Feyernoord had expected the Blues to come back with an improved offer for midfielder De Guzman, but due to the events at the Manchester side yesterday no bid was forthcoming and the Dutch International now looks set to stay in Holland
20-year-old defensive-midfielder De Guzman has been at Feyernoord since 2005, with the young Dutchman recently starring for Holland at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
