Newcastle United: Reliance Communications 'We Don't Have Anything New To Say' On £220miilion Takeover

Reliance Communications has declined to a report in The Times, which has linked the company with a £220million takeover at Premier League club Newcastle United again.

Anil Ambani, head of Reliance Communication’s had been linked with a takeover at St James’ Park a month ago, but his representatives quickly moved to dismiss the claims as ‘false and baseless’, insisting there was no such plan in place.

“Mr. Ambani was laughing and said that the guy who wrote this report should have at least asked him so that he (Ambani) could have said no.” they said.

Now The Times have claimed that Ambani is ready to reignite his interest in the Magpies, also claiming that Ambani would reinstate Kevin Keegan and give him a minimum £100million transfer war chest to spend in January.

It goes on to reveal that the 6th richest man in the world pulled out of the previous takeover due to the £260million price-tag on the North East club after no new high profile addition’s to the squad in the summer.

However, spokesman for the company Gaurav Wahi had nothing new to say on the matter, other than what was already known that they denied the link a month ago.

Speaking to Goal.com, he said, “We had declined the link about a month back. So we don’t have anything new to say.”
