Portsmouth Extend Ghanaian Prodigy's Trial

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has extended the trial of Ghanaian International Torric Jebriel for a second week at the South coast club.

16-year-old Jebriel has already spent a week on trial at Fratton Park, after the Hearts of Oak midfielder had seen a move to La Liga side Atletico Madrid fall through, when the two sides couldn’t agree on a fee for the young starlet.

Jebriel, who has played four times for Ghana had been linked with Arsenal also in the summer, but Pompey have now made a move to give Jebriel his chance in the Premier League with a second weeks trial after the Ghanaian impressed Redknapp in the first week with the Portsmouth squad.

“I am doing my best to win a contract here and, with a lot of the senior players being Africans, I know I can learn more here,” Jebriel told Ghana Soccernet.
