Ramos Angry At Worst Start For 34 Years

Tottenham Hotspur boss Juande Ramos remains confident that his Spurs squad can turn it around, despite the North London sides worst start to a season in 34 years after defeat to Aston Villa on Monday, saw Tottenham at the bottom of the Premier League.

Spurs stand bottom after the home defeat to the Villans at White Hart Lane, with Ramos stating that he is angry to lose any game, but also blamed a lack of time with new signings Roman Pavlyuchenko, Vedran Corluka and Fraizer Campbell.

“I'm always angry at the end of games like this with the players and myself as well,” said Ramos.

“It's only just begun and there's still room for us there. I'm not going to carry out an assessment after one game.

“Hopefully with calmness and experience we'll get a positive result."

“We had very little time to prepare - Corluka, Pavlyuchenko and Frazier Campbell are new to the club and haven't really had time.”

Ramos, who has a worse record at Spurs than the manager he replaced Martin Jol, has admitted that Tottenham are behind in where he would like them to be, but insists that Tottenham must keep the spirit to climb up the Premiership.

“We are behind in our preparations. We need to keep the spirit going and climb as high up the table as possible.

“We've made an irregular start to the season, having lost three games, which makes it an uphill struggle for us.”
