Tottenham Hotspur boss Juande Ramos has dismissed talk that his job at White Hart Lane was under threat after less than a year in charge at Spurs. After Tottenham fans chanted ‘you don’t know what your doing’ during the 2-0 defeat to Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Sunday.
Ramos has overseen Tottenham’s worst start to a season for 53 years, which has seen Spurs take just two points from their opening six Premier League games.
However, the former Sevilla coach believes he has the full backing of the board at Tottenham, but has conceded that ultimately if he is to survive at White Hart Lane will be up to chairman Daniel Levy and the board.
Tottenham face a tricky UEFA Cup second-leg tie against Wisla Krakow this week, with former Tottenham boss Martin Jol being sacked by the North London club almost a year ago after a similar poor start in the Premiership.
Asked if he still had the backing of the Tottenham board, Ramos said: "Absolutely.
“We speak regularly and everyone is aware of our delicate position.
“Whether I survive is something for the chairman and the board to decide but I'm not hurt (by the fans' abuse). What hurts is not winning matches.”
