Premier League debutantes Hull City have moved quickly to ensure that new signing Brazilian Geovanni stays at the KC Stadium, by placing a £8million price tag on the former Barcelona player to warn off any potential suitor’s in the January transfer window.
28-year-old Geovanni joined the Tigers from Manchester City during the summer on a free transfer and has shone for the Yorkshire club, scoring 3 goals for Hull so far this season. Including two spectacular free kicks. Which has helped Phil Brown’s side reach the heady heights of 3rd place in the Premiership, with successive wins over North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Hull chairman Paul Duffen is ready to double Geovanni’s current deal with the Tigers to £40,000-a-week, despite the Brazilian only having played a handful of matches for his new side to ensure the playmaker remains at the Tigers.
Paul Duffen said: “We are determined to make sure he stays with us.”
