Spurs v Bolton Premiership Preview: Bale & Dawson Suspended, King Doubtful As Pressure Mounts On Ramos

Bottom of the Premier League Tottenham Hotspur take on Gary Megson’s Bolton Wanderers at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Nothing other than a first win of the season in the Premiership will do for under fire Spurs manager Juande Ramos, who is on the verge of being sacked by the North London club after overseeing Tottenham’s worst ever start to a season. Which has already seen them cut adrift in the Premier League. Spurs go into this clash with Bolton on the back of three straight losses in the league, with Tottenham also losing to Serie A side Udinese 2-0 in the UEFA Cup on Thursday.

The Trotters however have turned things around in their last two league games with a 3-1 win against West Ham United at Upton Park and a goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers last weekend at the Reebok Stadium after three straight losses of their own. Bolton are still just outside the relegation zone, but Megson will look to pile further misery on counterpart Ramos.

Tottenham are without the suspended Michael Dawson and Gareth Bale, who were both shown straight reds in the defeat to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium last weekend, with captain Ledley King still unable to play consecutive games and is likely to be rested. While midfielder Tom Huddlestone (knee) is doubtful and defender Vedran Corluka (head) also is unlikely to be risked against Bolton after being taken out by his own keeper Heurelho Gomes in the match against the Potters.

While Ramos has plenty of problems with suspensions and injuries, Megson has the luxury of a fully fit Bolton squad to choose from ahead of the visit to White Hart Lane.
