Tottenham Hotspur’s teenage sensation John Bostock is aiming to put the difficulties of his acrimonious transfer from Crystal Palace behind him and force himself into the first-team at White Hart Lane.
16-year-old Bostock was caught in the middle of the row that erupted from the Eagles as a tribunal ruled that Spurs would only pay Palace an initial £700,00 fee for the midfielder. Something that infuriated Palace chairman Simon Jordan, who even threatened to quit over the affair.
However, Bostock is now going to concentrate on his football and push himself into a place in Juande Ramos’ side.
The 16-year-old’s move from Crystal Palace to Spurs ended in an acrimonius dispute between the two clubs – with Palace chairman Simon Jordan threatening to quit football.
But the midfielder is now hoping to put that behind him and concentrate on making his first-team debut at White Hart Lane.
Bostock told setantasports.com,: “I am loving it at Spurs, I am improving all the time. It is a lot different from Palace, but I am enjoying it and I am just going to keep working hard and hopefully make my debut very soon.
“It is a goal for this season. I want to try and aim high and hopefully if I work hard the manager will see and I will get a chance this season.
“I am very grateful for everything Palace did for me, but that’s in the past now, but I’m just looking ahead to the future and we’ll see what happens.”
The young midfielder was also one of the stars of the England Under-17’s team that beat Israel 1-0 in the FA International Tournament on Friday.
“It was really good to get a win at the end,” he added.
“We were on top from the very start, we just could not put our chances away. I was so relieved to come out on top.
“It was quite a physical game, we are used to just passing the ball around, but when sides play England they are going to try their hardest to try and get at us, get tight to us and stop us from playing.”
