Tottenham Hotspur are planning a double swoop on Spanish side Real Zaragoza, with it understood that Spurs have made offers for Diego Milito and Sergio Garcia, according to sources close to Zaragoza.
Tottenham boss Juande Ramos knows all about the pair from his time in charge of FC Sevilla, with it believed that Spurs have made an offer of £10.5million (€13m) for Argentine International Milito and £4.8million (€6m) for Garcia.
Spanish International Garcia has been left out of the Zaragoza squad to face Levante, along with 29-year-old Milito. Which has fuelled speculation that the duo are heading out of La Romareda to White Hart Lane. Manos chairman Agapito Iglesias is also reported as being in London to hold talks with the North London club, suggesting a move to the Premiership for the pair could happen this weekend.
Although both players have been linked with Spurs, it is not thought that they figured high on Ramos’ wishlist. However, with the transfer window due to slam shut in a couple of days it appears that Tottenham are looking at a plan B, in light of the failure to land Andrei Arshavin.
Zaragoza, who were relegated last season from La Liga will be glad to offload two of their highest wage earner’s, but do value Garcia at a lot more than the €6million offered by Tottenham. However, for Iglesias to fly to London to talk to Spurs, it is understood a deal for the pair is close.
