Swiss International Gokhan Inler has rejected any possible transfer to the Premier League with Arsenal by signing a new deal with Serie A team Udinese. Which will tie him to the Zebrette until 2013.
24-year-old Inler has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium all summer, with it widely known that Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is keen to add one quality midfielder to the North London side.
However, despite reports that Inler was on his way out of the Stadio Friuli in a £8million (€10m) deal to Arsenal. The midfielder has now signed a new five-year deal with Udinese, with the former FC Zurich player claiming that he never had any doubt’s he would sign a new contract with the Serie A club.
“I never had any doubts, and from the first day I always said I was sure of staying at Udinese," Inler told the club website.
“I want to go all the way with this club and play a great season.
“Our objective is to improve upon last year and I feel the team is stronger, while we are certainly not lacking enthusiasm.”
