Former FIFA World Footballer of the Year Ronaldo is a transfer target for Premier League club Manchester City, according to AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani.
The Rossoneri released the Brazilian International from the San Siro at the end of last season, with the 31-year-old scoring 9 goals in 20 appearances for the Serie A giants during his one year with Milan.
City chief executive Gary Cook announced recently that the Blues were looking to bring in a superstar to the Eastlands Stadium, with the former FC Barcelona and Real Madrid striker top of his shopping list.
This is despite numerous reports of Ronaldo having serious weight and injury issues since having his deal terminated at the San Siro.
Galliani has revealed that City owner Thaksin Shinawatra is still determined to land the Brazilian, who has 74 goals in 112 appearances for his country, despite the forward yet to recover fully from a knee ligament rupture.
“For sure they want him,” Galliani said about City.
“A Brazilian friend of mine, expert of South American football, is convinced of it.”
