Pavlyuchenko To Sign For Spurs

Spartak Moscow striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has flown into London on Friday morning to complete his £15million (€18.65m) to Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old striker could even feature against Chelsea on Sunday if he passes a routine medical and his registration can be processed by the Premier League in time.

The Russian International could even partner wantaway forward Dimitar Berbatov at Stamford Bridge, according to some sources at the North London side.

However, it is the arrival of Pavlyuchenko at White Hart Lane that could finally smooth the path for Bulgarian International Berbatov to make his long protracted transfer to Premiership Champions Manchester United.

Spurs boss Juande Ramos is still hoping to land Pavlyuchenko’s International team-mate Andrei Arshavin from Zenit St Petersburg, but that looks unlikely after Arshavin claimed earlier on Friday that it was unlikely he would sign as well as Pavlyuchenko. With Tottenham still unable to agree on a fee with Zenit for the 27-year-old playmaker.
