Championship side Birmingham City have decided to end their interest in out of favour Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng, after not hearing anything from the Germany Under-21 International or Spurs.
Prince Boateng was signed by former Spurs boss Martin Jol, from Hertha Berlin in 2007, but has failed to establish himself under new manager Juande Ramos and is deemed surplus to requirements at the North London club.
City manager Alex McLeish had wanted to take Prince Boateng on loan at St Andrews from White Hart Lane, but despite wanting to meet with the German has heard nothing from the player, his agent or Premier League club Spurs.
However, McLeish has lost patience with the situation and intends to focus elsewhere in search for players to bring to the Midlands side.
“He has disappeared from the radar. I understand he is still in Germany,” McLeish said.
“We have not heard anything from Spurs, Boateng or the agent.
“We have got to move on. We can't wait forever. Until I hear something we are going to pursue the guys we are looking at at the moment.”
