Bolton Plan £10million January Double Swoop

Bolton Wanderers are reportedly lining up a £10million double swoop in January for Gelson Fernandes at Premier League rivals Manchester City and Joe Ledley at Championship side Cardiff City.

Trotters boss Gary Megson has cash to spend in the January window after missing out on the pair during the summer, with it expected that Megson will make another move to bring Fernandes and Ledley to the Reebok Stadium when the window reopens.

The Bluebirds refused to sell Ledley during the summer, with the Welsh side turning down offers for the Welsh International from Stoke City along with Bolton, but could allow the left-sided midfielder to leave Ninian Park if Cardiff are not in the hunt for promotion to the Premiership come January. Any deal for the 21-year-old would cost the Trotters in the region of £6million to bring Ledley to the Reebok.

Bolton had agreed a £4million deal with Man City for Fernandes, but saw the deal fall through on deadline day after the takeover at the Eastlands by the ADUG, with City pulling the plug at the last minute. Megson now hopes that this can be resurrected in January and that City manager Mark Hughes will allow the deal to go through.
