Curbishley Resigns From West Ham

Alan Curbishley has resigned as manager of West Ham United the East London club have confirmed.

Curbishley has been under pressure from the Hammers fans from the moment the former Charlton Athletic boss took up the post in 2006 at Upton Park.

However, Curbishley has been unhappy with the Icelandic owner’s decision to sell Anton Ferdinand and George McCartney to Sunderland this summer and has handed in his resignation, but has reportedly indicated he is ready to accept a severance package from the club, according to Sportsmail.

West Ham have confirmed the resignation of Curbishley in an official statement.

The statement read: “We can confirm that we have accepted Alan Curbishley's resignation as we feel it is in the best interests of both parties.

“We wish Alan all the success in the future. A shortlist of candidates is being drawn up and an announcement will be made in due course about the new West Ham United manager.”
