Juande Ramos: Crazy To Suggest I Would Quit Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos has dismissed reports that he is ready to quit White Hart Lane to return to La Liga after less than a year in charge of the North London club.

Ramos has seen his Spurs side endure their worst start to a season in 34 years, which has seen speculation mount about the Spaniard’s future at Tottenham, with recent reports claiming that Ramos is ready to return back to Spain.

Former Sevilla coach Ramos took Spurs to League Cup glory at Wembley against Chelsea last season, but lost strike-force Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane during the summer. While only managing to bring in Roman Pavlyuchenko as a recognised goalscorer to Tottenham.

Other summer signings David Bentley, Luka Modric and young Mexican Giovanni Dos Santos are taken time to settle in at Tottenham, which has seen Spurs only pick up 2 points in 5 games in the Premiership this season and sees them rooted to the bottom of the table.

However, Ramos has rejected reports he is ready to quit Tottenham as “crazy”, after claiming he has dreamed of coaching in the Premier League for years. Ramos also insists he does not look for excuses to Spurs’ poor start and says it is time for Tottenham to win the Carling Cup in which they are champions.

Ramos told AS: “It's crazy to suggest that when I have been dreaming for many years of coaching in the Premiership.

“We're playing five games in thirteen days, on Wednesday, we play in the Carling Cup against Newcastle. There is no time to prepare things. But I do not look for excuses.

“Now it is time to win in the competition in which we are champions.”
