LMA Statement: Keegan Has Not Resigned From Newcastle

Newcastle United manager Kevin Keegan has not resigned from the Magpies, according to The League Manager’s Association, but speculation still continues to mount as to what the future holds, if any at St James Park for Keegan.

With the Toon making an official statement on Tuesday, stating that Keegan had not been sacked after eight months in charge of the Premier League side. Rumours began to circulate that once again Keegan had walked out on a Premiership club, having resigned from Newcastle before in 1997 and Manchester City in 2005.

However, despite the claims that Keegan has not quit, nobody is really sure what is happening at the North East club, with regards to Keegan’s future at it.

The statement on the LMA website read: “Kevin Keegan has been in discussions with the LMA chief executive Richard Bevan.

“Over the course of the next few days Kevin will be communicating with the club's board to discuss a number of important issues.

“Richard Bevan said: 'Newcastle football club and its fans are massively important to Kevin and he has not resigned as manager of the club.

“The LMA will keep supporters, media and other stakeholders within the game fully informed of developments.”
