Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos has torn the dressing room at White Hart Lane in two, with reports that experienced squad members have been told that they cannot use first-team training facilities at the North London side because they do not figure in the Spaniard’s plans, according to The Daily Mail.
The paper claims that the new regime at Tottenham under Ramos has excluded players like Ricardo Rocha, Kevin Prince Boateng, Paul Stalteri, Adel Taarabt and keeper Ben Alnwick, who were part of previous Manager’s Martin Jol’s squads that had successive 5th placed finishes in the Premier League, from using the Chigwell training ground dressing room.
This news comes on the back of Spurs coach Gus Poyet’s claims that new signing Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent could not play upfront together, with Pavlyuchenko, who was substituted in the defeat at Portsmouth for Bent already confused at Tottenham.
Russian International Pavlyuchenko reportedly even went to visit Ramos at home to find out why he had been taken off at Fratton Park, according to The Mirror.
Pavlyuchenko said: “I asked him why I had been substituted. He said it wasn't because I hadn't been playing well enough, it was just a decision to change tactics.
“He told me not to bother my head with stuff like that.”
However, former Sevilla coach Ramos has insisted that only hard work and confidence in their ability will get Spurs out of their current situation, with Tottenham bottom of the Premiership after six games. Their worst start to a season in 53 years.
Ramos said: “It's a situation we need to change quickly. I don't like it and we have to work hard. Myself, the coaches and the players are prepared to do that.
“It's only possible if we work very hard, have confidence in our abilities and the team is together.
"Only the professionals on the pitch can do it. All the people want to help but I repeat, only the players and the management can change this situation.”
