Spanish International To Snub Barca Return For Spurs In January?

Sevilla winger Diego Capel reportedly wants a January move to Tottenham Hotspur, with the Spanish International keen to be reunited with former boss Juande Ramos at White Hart Lane, according to The People.

20-year-old Capel had been heavily linked with a switch to Spurs during the summer, with Ramos understood to be keen to add his former charge to his squad at White Hart Lane, but despite all the speculation surrounding the Spaniard’s future at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan the midfielder remained at the Rojiblancos, when the two sides could not agree on a fee.

However, it is now believed that Capel has refused to sign the new deal on offer by the Sevillistas, with the player, who has two caps for Spain keen to follow Ramos to the Premier League.

La Liga giants FC Barcelona were also interested in the young winger, who has been at Sevilla since 2001 after leaving the Catalan side as a 13-year-old, but it seems that Capel would favour a move to the Premiership rather than a return to the Nou Camp.

Capel made his debut for Sevilla at 16 and became the first choice winger for the Spanish side last season, following the tragic death of team mate Antonio Puerta.
