Hull Boss Brown Hails The New King At The KC Stadium

Hull City manager Phil Brown has heaped praise on striker Marlon King, who is on a season-long loan deal at the KC Stadium from Premier League rivals Wigan Athletic.

Brown, who has taken the Premiership debutantes to the heady heights of 4th place after a promising start to the campaign and has singled out the former Watford striker, who scored both goals to sink a troubled Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday. Which has taken the Jamaican International’s tally to three goals in three games for the Tigers.

Brown said: “There has been a lot said about Marlon King, even before he came to this club.

“There were one or two doubters and a few eyebrows raised when he came through the door, but I've found him nothing but a pleasure to work with.

“I think that's firstly because he recognises the ambition of the football club, I hope he recognises my ambition and I know he is a player who wants to say to Wigan Athletic and the Premier League that he can score goals.

“He had the bottle to stick the penalty away and that wasn't easy. That was the biggest moment of the season so far.”
