Spurs To Break British Transfer Record To Land Huntelaar In January?

Tottenham Hotspur will have to find in excess of £30million if they want to sign prolific striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar from Ajax in the January transfer window.

Spurs, who failed to sign a fourth recognised striker at White Hart Lane after allowing Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov to leave for Liverpool and Manchester United respectively, have been heavily linked with a move for the Dutch International in January.

However, it is understood that should Tottenham boss Juande Ramos make a move for Huntelaar in January. The North London club would have to offer more than £30million, with it claimed that the Eredivisie side have already turned down two bid of £30million for the former Heerenveen forward. One of which is believed to be Bundesliga club SV Hamburg, who are managed by former Spurs chief Martin Jol, according to Sport 1.

Huntelaar stated his desire to follow in the footsteps of Ruud van Nistelrooy earlier in the summer, and play in the Premier League, with it coming as no surprise that the striker has attracted interest from around Europe, having scored a phenomenal 70 goals in 83 games for Ajax.
