Spurs To Make Late Move For Former Gunner Diarra?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a £12million offer for former Arsenal player Lassana Diarra from Portsmouth, according to The People.

Spurs boss Juande Ramos is a keen admirer of Diarra, who was linked with a move to White Hart Lane earlier in the summer as well as attracting interest from Manchester City. With Pompey manager Harry Redknapp publicly stating that the midfielder, who only arrived at Fratton Park in January would be going nowhere.

However, it is now understood that 23-year-old Diarra may need to be sold in order to balance the books at the South coast side, amidst rumours of financial problems. The sale of Diarra for £12million would represent sound business for Pompey, having paid Arsenal £5.5million for the midfielder just eight months ago.

Should the French International leave for Spurs, it would be the combative midfielder’s 4th Premier League club in three years since joining Chelsea from Le Havre in 2005, before making the trip across London to the Gunners in 2007 and now Portsmouth.
