Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur will have to pay Southampton £5million for midfielder Adam Lallana, with Spurs boss Juande Ramos reportedly interested in a January move for the talented youngster, according to The Daily Mirror.
20-year-old Lallana has been at the Saints since 2006, with the young midfielder breaking into the Championship’s first-team as a regular fixture this year. Which has attracted the likes of Spurs to sound out the possibility of a move in January to bring Lallana to White Hart Lane.
However, Lallana recently signed a new three-year deal at the St Mary’s Stadium, with the South coast club also placing a £5million pricetag on one of their prize assets.
Saints manager Jan Poortvliet has conceded though that while Southampton would like to keep Lallana, should he leave it will be for the right money.
Poortvliet said: “We'd like to keep Adam but, if he should leave, hopefully it will be to a very good club and for big money.”
