Stoke v Chelsea Premiership Preview: Deco & Carvalho Missing For Blues – Sonko Out For Potters

Tony Pulis’ Stoke City host Chelsea in their Premier League match at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

The Potters are in the bottom three in the table, but will draw positives from the point gained in a spirited display against Liverpool at Anfield last week. However, Stoke will have their work cut out against an unbeaten Chelsea side.

Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Chelsea team will make the trip to the Britannia full of confidence, with the Blues 2nd in the Premier League and having just destroyed Portsmouth 4-0 in the Carling Cup at Fratton Park in midweek.

Pulis has almost a full squad to choose from ahead of the visit of the West London club, with only Ibrahim Sonko (leg) unavailable).

Chelsea will be missing Portuguese pair Deco (thigh) and Ricardo Carvalho (knee) along with Michael Essien (knee), but striker Didier Drogba could be in line for his first Premier League start of the season.

Stoke City: (from) Simonsen, Griffin, Higginbotham, Olofinjana, Cort, Whelan, Lawrence, Soares, Cresswell, Fuller, Sidibe, Kitson, Pugh, Pericard, Matteo, Shawcross, Diao, Faye, de laet, Davies, Buxton, Tonge, Delap, Diagne-Faye, Phillips, Wilkinson, Sorensen, Dickinson
