West Brom v West Ham Premiership Preview: Zola Makes Premier League Management Bow

West Bromwich Albion take on Gianfranco Zola’s West Ham United in their Premier League Match at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

Tony Mowbray’s Baggies find themselves rooted to the bottom of the Premier League with just a solitary point picked up against Bolton Wanderers in their last fixture at the Reebok Stadium, with the Midlands side hoping to secure their first win of the season against a Hammers side that has had a lot of activity going on off the pitch.

Alan Curbishley resigned from West Ham last week over differences of opinion in transfer policy, with former Chelsea legend Zola being appointed in the job on Thursday. Zola has promised the fans at Upton Park attacking football as the Irons look to consolidate a solid start to the season, which sees them in 5th place in the table.

Abdoulaye Meite is a doubt for Mowbray with a calf strain, but could feature, while Felipe Teixeira (knee) and Neil Clement (knee) continue to be absent for the Baggies. Loan signing Ryan Donk could feature.

New boss Zola has several players out as he makes his Premiership bow in management, with Kieran Dyer (broken leg), Jonathan Spector (hip), Danny Gabbidon (groin), James Tomkins (knee) and Jack Collison all missing the trip to the Hawthorns. However loan signings David Di Michele and Henry Ilunga could make their Hammers debuts.
