Man United v West Brom Premiership Preview: Hargreaves Could Feature For United – Brunt Could Return For Baggies

Premier League Champions Manchester United take on Tony Mowbray’s West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils started to find their form before the International break after a slow start to their Premiership season and are poised in 8th place with a game in hand. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson will be pleased to have striker Wayne Rooney in sublime form, with the England International scoring four goals in the World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Belarus.

The Baggies are just a point behind United in the Premier League and have made a solid start to the campaign after their promotion from the Championship last season. West Brom go into this clash on the back of two league wins against Middlesbrough and Fulham and are comfortable in 9th place.

Ferguson is unable to Michael Carrick (ankle) and Paul Scholes (knee), but Owen Hargreaves could feature if the midfielder shakes off a hamstring in time for the visit of the Baggies. Dimitar Berbatov is expected to partner the in form Rooney, with Argentine Carlos Tevez having to settle for a place on the bench.

West Brom will be missing Kim Do-Heon (knee) and Neil Clement (knee) for the trip to Old Trafford, but Chris Brunt could feature for the Baggies against the European Champions if he recovers from a hamstring in time. Ishmael Miller is expected to be the solitary striker against United for the Midlands club.
