Sunderland's Healy: Jones Better Than Arsenal's Adebayor

Sunderland summer signing David healy has claimed that fellow Black Cats striker Kenwyne Jones is better than Arsenal star Emmanuel Adebayor ahead of the clash with the Gunners on Saturday at the Stadium of Light.

Northern Ireland International Healy is looking forward to having Jones back in the squad after, with the Trinidad & Tobago International still suffering from a knee injury and will miss the clash with the Arsene Wenger’s side.

Healy, who joined from Fulham in the summer, has claimed that of all the strikers he saw while at Craven Cottage, Jones was the player who stood out.

Healy said: “I think everyone is looking forward to getting Kenwyne back.

“Last season I remember he had a great game against Fulham, when I was playing down there.

“Over the course of a season, you see all the top strikers play against you in the Premiership - the Adebayors and these people - but Kenwyne was the one who stood out.

“He could do everything - he is a big, tall striker who can head the ball and pass it, bring his teammates into the game and score goals.”

However, the stats don’t back up Healy’s claims, with Togolese International Adebayor finishing joint second top scorer in the Premier League with 24, while Jones had a more modest return of 7.
