The imminent arrival of Argentine International Pablo Zabaleta at Manchester City has fuelled speculation that Vedran Corluka will make the switch to Tottenham Hotspur.
23-year-old right back Zabaleta is due at the Eastlands Stadium for a medical before the Espanyol defender completes a £6.5million (€8m) transfer to the Premier League.
This would allow City boss Mark Hughes to let 22-year-old Corluka (left) leave for White Hart Lane in a deal worth in the region of £9.5million for the Croatian International.
Corluka has been a target for Spurs manager Juande Ramos all summer, with the Spaniard a keen admirer of the defender, who starred in EURO 2008. However, Hughes has been opposed to letting the Croatian leave until a suitable replacement was found.
Now that Zabaleta is poised to join City, the Manchester club look set to part company with Corluka, who has been with City for one season since joining from Dinamo Zagreb in 2007.
