Man City Not To Sign 'The Phenomenon'

Manchester City have revealed that they have opted against offering former three-time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldo a deal at the Eastlands Stadium, after reports on Monday claimed the Brazilian International would be joining City on a one-year deal in January.

31-year-old Ronaldo, who was released by Serie A giants AC Milan, after a serious knee injury ruled him out of the rest of the season for the Rossoneri in February. Had been linked with a move to Mark Hughes’ side all summer, but this seem to cool when the ADUG took charge of the Blues on transfer deadline day, with City now confirming that Ronaldo will not be joining compatriots Robinho and Jo at the Eastlands.

A City spokesperson said to The Telegraph, “We had shown a past interest in bringing the player to the football club in the right circumstances and spoke to him and his representatives.

“However, we have chosen not to pursue the matter.”

The Brazilian known as ‘The Phenomenon’ may now decide to try and resurrect his career in his homeland when he fully recovers from his injury, with Flamengo reportedly willing to offer Ronaldo the chance to play.
