Spurs & Bayern To Fight For Arshavin In January

Tottenham Hotspur will face competition from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich if they decide to move for summer transfer target Andrei Arshavin at Zenit St Petersburg in January.

Spurs will reportedly make another move for the Russian playmaker in January, after failing to agree on a price for the EURO 2008 star with Zenit during the summer, with Tottenham boss Juande Ramos keen to pair the forward with Russian strike-partner Roman Pavlyuchenko at White Hart lane.

Ramos is keen to add to the front line at the North London club, having seen Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane leave for Manchester United and Liverpool respectively, with it being no secret that Arshavin remains top of the Spaniard’s wishlist.

However, Tottenham will have to compete with Bayern should they pursue Arshavin in January, with the German side also putting the 27-year-old Russian on the top of their wanted list. After Lukas Podolski, who is a target of Manchester City and Real Madrid asked to leave the Allianz Arena.
