Spurs Boss Calls For Change In Transfer Window

Tottenham Hotspur boss Juande Ramos has criticised the summer transfer window for being to long, with the White hart Lane chief revealing that he thought the window should close once the Premier League season had got underway.

Ramos was involved in a late flurry of transfer activity late on Monday night, which saw Bulgarian International Dimitar Berbatov leave in a £30.75million deal for Manchester United at midnight, with young Fraizer Campbell coming to White Hart Lane on a season-long loan as part of the deal for the striker.

However, Ramos is bemused by the fact that despite having a transfer window, a player could still leave once the season is underway, with Ramos adamant that this affects their concentration.

“The league started on 16th August, but the window does not shut until 1st September,” Ramos is quoted as telling the Press Association.

“You play three games before it shuts while players are uncertain where they are going to be playing and team-mates are thinking which players will go and who will come in.

“That means they are not fully concentrated on their work.”

“I would prefer it that, once the league has started, you don't have a player playing for one team one week and playing for another the next.”
