Chelsea are reportedly ready to step up their interest in Barcelona youngster Guy Assulin, despite the Blaugrana placing a £15.6million (€20m) price tag on the Israeli International, with the 17-year-old also a target for Manchester United and Arsenal, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
Assulin is one of a number of youngster’s at the Nou Camp that the Blues are hoping to lure away from La Liga to Stamford Bridge, with Rafa and Thiago Alcantara as well as Gerard Deulofeu, who is also a target for Premier League rivals Liverpool and has been dubbed ‘the new Ronaldinho’ at the Catalan club.
Chelsea are understood to have sent Frank Arnesen’s right hand man Hans Gillhaus to Barcelona along with their Spanish scout Juan Cruz Sol to try and tie up a deal for the talented Assulin in January. With the youngster already drawing comparison with Barca favourite, Argentine International Lionel Messi.
Despite the €20million price tag it is understood that his sale value could be as little as a quarter of that figure, with the attacking midfielder, who can play anywhere along the frontline already featuring 25 time for the Barca B side, Barcelona Atletic, scoring 9 times. Helping the Catalan side to top spot in the Tercera Division last season.
