Sunderland winger Carlos Edwards has joined Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers as Wolves boss Mick McCarthy looks to bolster an injury-ravaged squad at the Midlands side.
The 29-year-old Trinidad and Tobago International will join Wolves on a three-month loan deal after McCarthy lost both regular wingers Michael Kightly and Matt Jarvis to injury in the 3-0 defeat to Reading at the Molineux on Tuesday.
McCarthy told the club's official website: “We've lost one winger long-term and another short-term but have got a very good replacement.
“Carlos is a quality player who can operate on either wing and is someone we know a lot about.”
Edwards has been at the Stadium of Light since joining from Luton Town for £1.4million in January 2007, but has lost his place at the North East club to summer signing Steed Malbranque, who joined from Tottenham Hotspur.
